PRIVATE HOUSE (Refers to images 1 & 2)
Louise Crossman Architects were Lead Consultants from the start of the project to completion of the comprehensive repair and refurbishment of this Grade 2 Listed private country house and associated building complex (see Historic and Contemporary portfolio).

The works in all areas were completed to a very high specification and integrate modern services and finishes into the historic fabric. The choice of sustainable technologies needed to both recognise the particular characteristics and sensitivities of the historic building fabric, and the ongoing service and management implications of the chosen technologies.

The principal heat source for the various space, water and swimming pool operation needs was provided by a biomass wood chip boiler, where timber from the estate could be utilised as fuel. Service buildings were designed to support the layout of the boiler and plumbing infrastructure, incorporating a fuel store of sufficient capacity to ensure that the boiler can be successfully managed. The images show the successful integration of these buildings supporting sustainable technologies within an historic context.
