Leader of the Practice since its inception in 1989.
Louise is committed to the creation of distinctive quality designs that encompass local traditions and techniques. Impassioned by ideas and buildings that reflect and contribute to our environment, she seeks to distil this vision into the work of the practice.
Louise was appointed as a Secretary of State representative to Exmoor National Park Authority 1996-1999 and is a registered Architect Accredited in Building Conservation. She has considerable experience in working with Listed Buildings, including churches, private houses and the refurbishment of the Simonsbath Sawmill, a Heritage Lottery Funded project, and has developed a good working relationship with English Heritage, the Exmoor National Park Authority and other local planning authorities in Somerset and Devon.

Claire joined the Practice in 2005 and was appointed as a director in 2010.
Claire enjoys balancing the aspirations of a project with the resources available to create architectural solutions ranging from a sharp contemporary conversion to a gentle vernacular response to context. She is committed to following a design through from inception to completion, being rigorous in her work down to the smallest detail. Comfortable as a lead consultant she actively engages all consultants within a project and is inclusive and respectful of their skills and experience which contributes to the success of a project within the context of the client's brief.
Claire's experience includes Churches, Ruins, Scheduled Monuments, private houses, New Build, Tenanted Listed Commercial properties, Historic Landscapes and agricultural buildings - both privately and publicly funded and has a good working relationship with English Heritage and Local Planning Authorities.
