white lodge

Louise Crossman Architects were appointed to design a scheme that would enable local veterinary practice White Lodge Veterinary Clinic to expand their operations by creation of a new large animal treatment centre. With the proposed site outside the town development limits, within close proximity of Exmoor National Park and also near an Environmental Agency Flood Risk zone, obtaining planning permission was not a foregone conclusion.

The new clinic was designed to reflect the original agricultural buildings and to fit sympathetically into the rural landscape, providing space for operating and treatment areas, stables for overnight or post-operative care for animals, a reception area, offices, pharmacy and feed store, as well as exercise space, an observation yard and grazing.
