Private House

Louise Crossman Architects were Lead Consultants from the start of the project to completion of the comprehensive repair and refurbishment of this Grade 2 Listed private country house. Works to the house included internal reorganisation of the layout, integration of modern services and infrastructure into the historic fabric and restoration of period details and finishes throughout. Externally the house was also restored and existing damaged stonework conserved.

In addition to the main house the associated building complex was also comprehensively refurbished, providing staff and guest accommodation, extensive re-landscaping and a new pool building (see Contemporary portfolio).

The works in all areas were completed to a very high specification and integrated modern services and finishes into the historic fabric. The works also included the provision of sustainable technologies (see Sustainable portfolio).

The project was awarded a 'Highly Commended' in the June 2013 South West Regional LABC Building Excellence Awards in the Best Conversion category, along with a finalist's position in the Best Vernacular Architecture category.
